| Sorius Samura is poised to collect possibly two more awards
this coming week in London. The Sierra Leonean award winning cameramen
has been shortllisted under two categories for the ONE WORLD MEDIA AWARDS
2000 (Theme: Making Media Matter) which will be held on Thursday, 15 June
2000 at the London Marriott Hotel
The 13-category awards ceremony will be co-presented by Channel 4 TV
's Jon Snow and the BBC war correspondent Kate Adie.
The annual One World Media Awards exist to
recognise the achievements of media professionals in furthering appreciation
of international affairs. In particular, the awards honour those who have
highlighted issues of global justice, social and economic development,
and human rights, and who have done so in an engaging and challenging way.
Categories for which Sorius Samura has been nominated are:
1. TV DOCUMENTARY AWARD
Out of Africa
Ron McCullagh/Sorius Samura (Insight

2. ICRC DIGNITY IN CONFLICT AWARD
Sorius Somura/Ron McCullagh (Channel
